Quarterly Photo Contest Rules
Frequency: The 2011 Contest will be held quarterly in February, May, August, and November.
Eligibility: Only members of Laguna Sea Dwellers are eligible to enter.
Requirements: An entry form is required to enter. Forms are available during monthly meetings and online.

HOW TO SUBMIT AN IMAGE
Submissions must meet certain criteria (composition, lighting, ETC)
File format: jpg. Image size: 1024 x 768 at 72 dpi. Color and black-and-white images accepted
Submissions due to Joe Liburdi on the 1st of the month. No exceptions please. Submit your pictures via email at orca2@cox.net or thumb drive, DVD or memory card at 2272 Michelson Drive · Irvine, CA 92612 (949.476.8500)

CATEGORIES
The contest is divided into three categories. Participants can submit entries for all categories. Only two entries per category per contestant, please
Underwater – Quarterly theme to be announced by Joe via LSD Newsletter and announcement at monthly meetings prior to contest date.
People – Open category. Must have a club member(s) in the shot. Can be topside, underwater, whatever. Can be humor-ous/serious.
Computer Art – Digital manipulation with computer software programs. This category is also open. Subject can be anything. Judging: Submissions will be critiqued and selected by Joe Liburdi and Kevin Panizza.
CRITERIA
Manipulation of images in the Underwater category with image altering software such as Photoshop will not be allowed beyond removal of backscatter and color enhancement. A creative art form generated by Photoshop or similar art program. Image will be judged on the following merits: Composition, Exposure, Focus, Lighting, Creativity
PRIZES
There will be a cash award for each category winner
- $25 award for Underwater
- $25 award for People
- $25 award for Computer Art
Winning images will be published in the LSD Newsletter Winners and winners will be announced at the club meetings.
Special Annual Award: The winners from each quarterly contest will have their images judged for the Annual Grand Prize of $100. The winner will be announced at the Holiday Party.
