Photo Contest!

The next quarterly contest will be held January 16, 2013. Deadline for entries is December 31, 2012.


U/W Theme for JAN 2013 is Open, anything goes. Entries must have been taken within six (6) months prior to Dec 31, 2012


People Theme for Jan 2013: Pictures of club members, top side or underwater.





Laguna Sea Dwellers Photo Contest Rules and Guidelines

Frequency: TheContest will be held four times a year: January, April, June and September.

Submission of photos: Due the first day of the month preceding thequarterly contest.

Eligibility: Only members of Laguna Sea Dwellers are eligible to enter.

Requirements:

· JPEG file format: At least 2,000 x2,000 pixels. File size may not exceed (3MB)

  • Only two entries per category per contestant , PLEASE.

· Name of Contestant,Group and Category on each entry submitted

Groups:

  • Novice : (Beginner Level) A Novice who wins first place twice in the Novice Group must advance to Advanced when entering future contests.
  • Advanced: The more experienced photographer.

Categories:  Both Groups

  • People : Pictures  of LSD Club Member having fun. On Land or Underwater.
  • Underwater .  Theme will be open, anything goes.
  • Note :  Send in anything you feel is good no matter when it was taken.

Prizes:

NOVICE:

• First Place:“People”:         $25.

•  First Place:“Underwater”:  $25.

ADVANCED:

• First Place:“People”:             $25.

• First Place: “Underwater”     $25.

Judging: Judging will beconducted by Joe Liburdi and Bill Manrow.

Photosare scored on a point system. One (1) to twenty (20) points will be awarded foreach picture with 100 being the highest any one photo can receive.

· Composition      Does your eye focusin on the central point of interest.

· Creativity       Does the picturetell a story?

· Focus       Is the picture sharp,depth of field, etc.?

· Exposure                     Under/overexposed? Does the light fall on the central                                                             pointof interest?

· Degree of difficulty    How difficultwas it to take this picture?

Winners will bepublished in the LSD newsletter.

Special Annual Award: The winners from each quarterly contest will have their photos judged for theAnnual Grand Prize of $50. in each Group .The two winners will be announced and presented with the prizes at the HolidayParty in December.
